Hey everyone~ So here are my AQ answer.
duuh~ i hate my marks. even worst teacher sharifah commented it as chatty and prechy.
The words in red are teachers marking. Yeah, many mistakes and redundent.
AQ: The writer argues in paragraph 4 that fighting cheating with more technology is futile and provides his own suggestions as how cheating can be combatted. How effective are these suggestions? In word way can they too fail? Using examples from your own experience, suggest alternative methods to combat cheating in academia.
The writer has suggested a good teaching technique which can educate the students effectively. This technique can combat cheating. Professors are encouraged to use effective and interesting ways of teaching in order to enlighten the class as it will help the students to be more committed in their work. Here, the professors can monitor their class and know their progress and therefore support them. (Need to evaluate whether these suggestions can combat cheating or not)
Another method to help reduce cheating is by having a good relationship between professors and students. They could communicate with each other with no hesitation. Hence, they could discuss about anything such as the responsibility of a students and many more. (Need to evaluate whether these suggestions can combat cheating or not)
Professors should show more concern so that they (who?) are motivated. he professors should also encourage honest students to be more proactive and discourage the cheaters against cheating by exposing them and facing up to them as it (?) is injustice because only the dishonest students get rewarded even if they lacked effort and get all the scholarships. (Need to evaluate whether these suggestions can combat cheating or not)
These methods are effective and will combat cheating. There are three main reasons why some students cheat in exams; due to fear of failure, having no ability, and wanting to take risks. I thought it was because of students' desire to take short-cuts
Being afraid of failure is the most important reason for some students to cheat in exams. Some students think that if they fail the exams, they will have a lot of the following problems. For example, their parents will complain about their bad grades, their friends will look down and laugh at them, and they guess that the light of their educational futures will be darker too (so dramatic but quite effective). [ahaha. i dont know why the heaven i tyoe this!]They will get stressed if they cannot do the exams as well as they hope. And those factors will lead them to cheat in exams. In short, some students are afraid that they will have many problems if they fail the exams, so they start to cheat. Having no ability to do exams is the next reason that causes some students to cheat. There are a few cases for this reason. Some students do not have confidences. Some students cannot do the exams because they (?) are too difficult. And some students unreasonably judge themselves that they are not smart enough to pass the exams.
Instead of studying hard, paying attention during classes, reviewing lessons, and doing exercises, they(?) try to cheat in exams. In fine (??), some students do not try hard enough to pass the exams and it is terrible that their solution is cheating. The final reason why some students cheat the exams is because they want to take risks. It sounds unbelievable and crazy but it truly happens (Your tone is too chatty, unsuitable for GP). [macam nak bebual nga orang seyy this one!~]Some students just want to show-off to their friends. To show their abilities is looked upon as a fun activity for teenagers (Qn focuses on university students). [Nie dah over confident buat gaknye!]Without thinking thoroughly, they try to show their dishonest tricks in the examination rooms. These students probably think that cheating in the exams is challenging and makes them 'cool'. Besides, they will get incredibly good grades if they succeed in their cheating . Therefore, to dare the punishments, some students cheat in exams for pleasures.
In conclusion, there are many reasons for students to cheat in exams, being afraid of failure, having no ability, and wanting to take risks, including other reasons I have not stated. We still cannot guarantee that the methods will help students stop cheating. However, to those who are thinking to cheat in the exams, they should think about the punishments. No matter what their reason is. Is it worth getting caught and punished from both college and society? Even though they may not be smart enough to have excellent grades, they(?) should be proud of themselves that you (?) try to get good grades through their own abilities, not cheating.
Sounds rather chatty and preachy but there are some good evaluations.
